Among the cartel’s main criminal activities are the production of synthetic drugs, theft of drugs from other criminal organizations, co-opting authorities, and usurpation of public functions.
From 2017 to 2024, Huerta Nuño negotiated with the New Generation Jalisco Cartel (CJNG) to strengthen actions against their main rivals, the Pacific Cartel (CDP), in order to maintain control of operations in Tijuana, considered one of the main gateways to the United States for the trafficking of drugs, people, weapons, and illicit cash.
Huerta Nuño was arrested along with three other suspects and doses of drugs, weapons, magazines, ammunition, tactical gear, and vehicles were seized, while the two properties were sealed off and placed under police guard.
