Authorities reported that 3,439 suspects have been arrested and 2,893 firearms seized

The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports on the results obtained from “Operation Northern Border” on May 16, 17, and 18, 2025

Since the beginning of the operation on February 5, some 3,439 suspects have been arrested and 2,893 firearms, 494,661 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 14,158 magazines, 32,246.22 kg of drugs, including 189.81 kg of fentanyl, 2,651 vehicles, and 436 properties have been seized.

These actions were carried out in strict compliance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following were the most significant:

Baja California

In Mexicali, two suspects were arrested and 345 kilos of methamphetamine and a tractor-trailer were seized.

In other operations, 12 suspects were arrested and 114 rounds of ammunition were seized, along with 92 doses of methamphetamine, 38 doses of marijuana, a motorcycle and three vehicles, one of them reported stolen.

Nuevo Leon

In Juarez, a suspect was arrested, and a rifle, a magazine, five rounds of ammunition, 70 doses of methamphetamine, 20 doses of marijuana, cash, a cell phone, and a gram scale were seized.

In Santa Catarina, a suspect was arrested and two magazines, 44 rounds of ammunition, 873 doses of cocaine, 637 doses of methamphetamine, 22 doses of marijuana, and two gram scales were seized.

Sinaloa

In Navolato, two suspects were arrested and six machine guns, four rifles, a carbine, two grenade launcher attachments, all American-made, 33 magazines, 1,130 rounds of ammunition, two cartridge belts, two vehicles, one with homemade armor, 421 doses of methamphetamine, 123 doses of cocaine, 100 doses of marijuana, four tactical vests, and eight ballistic plates were seized.

In Cosalá, seven storage facilities for methamphetamine inputs were located and dismantled. As part of the operations, 5,875 liters of chemicals for the methamphetamine production, two organic synthesis reactors, and two lab condensers were seized. The economic impact on the criminal organizations was 125 million pesos (US$6.38 million)

Sonora

In Altar, a suspect was arrested and seven handguns, 12 magazines, 298 rounds of ammunition, 121 doses of methamphetamine, 54,500 pesos (US$2,780), seven cell phones, a tactical vest, and a property were seized.

In Cajeme, a suspect was arrested and a rifle-type weapon, three magazines and 77 live rounds of ammunition were seized.
