"Thank you to my colleagues in all the departments of the SFB. I have felt so loved by all of you," he wrote.

The American company was the first international success for the Jalisco native. He then went to the Netherlands and later became a star of the English National Ballet, directed by Tamara Rojo, with whom he got engaged in 2018 and had a child in 2021. Two years ago, he joined the ballet after it was announced that Rojo would be taking over as director.

"I must thank Tamara. I have been working with her vision for 10 years and have felt privileged to be part of so many brilliant moments," he said.

He added, "I am incredibly proud to have been part of productions like AK Giselle and Creature, and now here in SF, Aszure's Mere Mortals are truly groundbreaking pieces. I have been exposed to many styles and artistic challenges that have only made me a much better dancer than I ever thought I could be."
